The cabin was built long ago (we think in the 1920's), but has been renovated and is very comfortable and special. The previous owner is a master wood-worker and carver and had trees harvested from the land milled into boards for lining all the cabin walls.

There is no electric power at Cobb Pond, but we are able to use propane to provide lights, cook stove, refrigerator and hot water. Living off-the-grid is wonderfully peaceful and surprisingly comfortable and easy.

The kitchen and dining area are open and spacious. We provide the normal array of kitchen utensils for cooking and eating as well a few creative devices for life without power (coffee press and percolator, griddle for making toast). Lighting the cook stove and lights requires using matches, but it is safe so long as you don't let the gas build-up before you light them (i.e. light the match first, then turn on the gas supply). It's just like lighting a gas BBQ grill. We do have a gas BBQ grill at the cabin too. The refrigerator and hot water heater are push-button and stay on once you light them.

There is a bedroom downstairs with a queen sized bed. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with two double beds and one with two twins. To access the bedroom with the two double beds, you walk through the bedroom with the twins, but there is a door separating the two rooms. Each  bedroom has a bureau. We provide blankets and pillows, but ask you to bring your own bed linens and towels. Although the cabin can sleeps lots of people, we do not encourage large groups. We prefer groups of no more than four.
